I am a gamer, it all started in 1991/92 with Sonic the Hedgehog. What a game!
Me and my mate Tom stood open mouthed and amazed as Tom’s dad presented his son with a Sega Mega Drive and Sonic. For years we gamed together playing games like Golden Axe, After burner & Road Rash all in stunning 16-bit graphics.Writing this I actually gasped, but 24 years later I am still loving gaming, and I still game with Tom and a few others guys. Now its PS4 with HD graphics and continual communication over headsets and super fast fibre optic broadband. The funny thing is we are a group of mates who don’t call each other, we only chat over the game. We live miles apart and lead busy lives but make time to game.
The point of this section on the CVM website is that we believe you can use gaming as a fantastic way of reaching out to men who are part of an online community. If a lot of what you have read seems like a code, just take a look at the stats, other ministries focusing only on gaming and even some event ideas to give you some great methods of using gaming as a church and Men’s group.
Don’t forget to send me a friend request on PS4 so I can join in…
